Author
Helen took up writing historical romances in retirement after a lifetime in which she was a farmer’s wife, teacher, psychologist, and sociologist working mostly in rural Australia. Helen won an A.N.A. poetry prize as a teenager, followed by the Chiron Prize for Verse and the Lee Steere Award for History while a student at Claremont Teachers Training College. She wrote professionally throughout her working life, gave talks and ran workshops. Her major interest has been helping others. Helen still enjoys growing and processing food and enjoys contact with a wide range of friends and relatives. Her first novel, Marvellous Miss Markham, is an historical romance set in England during the reign of George IV. Extensively researched, this novel explores our very human need to belong. It has been followed by two further novels... so far. Helen writes under the pen name 'Helen BeDe'.
